Ashton Chadwick SWAc

Ashton Chadwick trained at Falmouth School of Art and is a Royal Academy Schools Post Graduate, former Head of Putney School of Art and former Principal of Blackheath School of Art.

He has exhibited throughout the UK, including The Royal Academy 'Pictures for Schools' and 'The Young Contemporaries', Burlington Fine Art, London, New English Art Club, Mall Galleries, London; Chapel Gallery, Saltram House, Plymouth, the White Space Gallery and the Bowie Gallery, Totnes.

He is particularly interested in the qualities of light in landscape, which he expresses in a variety of ways, from cast shadows to reflections. The actual activity of creating paintings or drawings is often the primary dynamic for his work, when his images are about mark making and the layering of colours or tones. In all his work Ashton constantly uses drawing to inform his creativity and he uses a range of materials, from charcoal, pencil and oil pastel to watercolour, oil paint, ink and acrylic.

He has paintings in private collections in the UK, USA, and France.
