✨Creativity is flourishing in our schools! ✨ The 2026 SWAc Education Project is now in full swing, with our Art Education Officer Nic George inspiring Years 3 & 4 pupils through exciting drawing and painting workshops centred on Still Life and healthy eating. Exploring the work of the Dutch Masters, influential 20th-century artists and SWAc members, the children are now bringing their own ideas to life on impressive 1m × 1m acrylic canvases. We are incredibly grateful to Cowling & Wilcox Art Supplies for their generous donation of the canvases, and to Greendale Farm Shop and East Devon District Council for their valued sponsorship and resources. Your support is making a real difference, helping young people discover the joy of creativity and self-expression. Our Arts Education Consultant, Nic George, has been busy inspiring pupils at Topsham School, Sidmouth C of E Primary School and St Martin's C of E Primary School, Cranbrook, through a creative project exploring food, healthy eating and art. At the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts we're already imagining exciting creative possibilities. The extraordinary work of Italian painter Giuseppe Arcimboldo, renowned for his imaginative portraits composed of fruits, vegetables and flowers, provides a wonderful source of inspiration for children as they explore health, nutrition and creativity through art.
