Open Exhibition 2020 - Reflections
An Online Exhibition for an Extraordinary Year
In this exceptional year, the Academy has reconfigured its annual Open Exhibition as an on-line exhibition: Reflections 2020. The focus of the exhibition is specifically upon artists’ responses to the pandemic. Reflections 2020 will provide a forum for artists’ work to remain in the public eye whilst respecting the need to be vigilant and maintain appropriate social distancing.
Open Exhibition 2019
This year's Open Exhibition will be at Exeter Castle, Exeter EX4 3PU, running from 12 - 23 November. The gallery space will be open from 10.00 to 4:30 daily.
Guest Artist: Peter Randall-Page
This year’s Guest Artist, Royal Academician, Peter Randall-Page has gained an international reputation through his sculpture, drawings and prints. As well as a painted bronze sculpture: Theme and Variation 1, Peter will also be exhibiting 2D prints and sponsoring one of the prizes at the Open exhibition, Exeter Castle.
Baroness Floella Benjamin: Portrait Bust
Baroness Floella Benjamin of Beckenham OBE DL is Patron of the South West Academy of Fine and Applied Arts. Lady Benjamin has close links with the South West and for ten years was Chancellor of Exeter University. When she stepped down as Chancellor, the University commissioned a statue of her in recognition of her contribution to the City of Exeter.
